Notes on the biology, distribution and host plants of Oides circumdata (BALY, 1861 ) and Oides fryi CLARK, 1864 (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) from the rainforests of south-eastern Queensland, Australia

Paper No: 231

Abstract: Some notes are provided on the distribution, general biology and host plants of Oides circumdata (BALY, 1861) and Oides fryi CLARK, 1864 (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) from the rainforests of south-eastern Queensland. O. circumdata feeds on the foliage of Cayratia clematidea and C. trifolia (Vitaceae) while C. fryi feeds on the leaves of Cissus antarctica (Vitaceae). These appear to be the first recorded food plants for these two endemic Oides species and the first records for Australian Oides species from the family Vitaceae.
