Grave of the Romanovs, Koptyaki Forest, about 30 km north-west of Ekaterinberg, Western Siberia, Russia. Summer 2004. This is the virtually forgotten actual gravesite of the Romanovs and some of their attendants. They were murdered at the Ipatiev House (now the site of the Church of Blood) then moved by covered truck to another site (now occupied by the Russian Orthodox Church) and finally to the site shown here. The bodies and site were forgotten for over 60 years before they were rediscovered in the early 1970's. The gravesite was cleared and marked with this memorial. The bodies have since been tested using DNA analysis and found to be those of Nicholas II, his wife, Maria Fedorovna, three of the Grand Duchesses, Tatiana, Maria and Olga as well as some of their attendants.
