Abstract: Cardiophorus jacquelinae sp. nov. (Coleoptera: Elateridae: Cardiophorinae) from Madagascan copal amber is herein described. Differences between this species and another described species of the same genus from Madagascan copal amber (Cardiophorus inclusus Quedenfeldt, 1885) and another from Baltic amber (C. yatsenkokhmeleveskyi lablokov-Khnzorian, 1961) are outlined. The new species is also compared with some other extant Cardiophorus species possessing orange or orange-brown elytral spots, viz. C. signatus (Olivier, 1790), C. cardisce (Say, 1839), C. fenestratus (LeConte, 1859) and C. quadrillum Candeze, 1860. Download PDF
