Calodema is a new scientific natural history journal edited by Dr Trevor J. Hawkeswood of Sydney, Australia.

It publishes original papers on the taxonomy, biology, ecology and distribution etc. of all biota in the Australasian and Pacific Regions and will extend to South America. It is A4 size and published on good quality gloss or semi-gloss paper. Over 50 papers and book reviews have been published to date.

Examples of papers so far published include works on the taxonomy and biology of Buprestidae (Coleoptera), mistletoe hosts, biology of endangered plant species such as Zieria involucrata (Rutaceae), new species of Arachnida (spiders) from South America, new species of Coleoptera from Australia and China, biology of leaf beetles (Chrysomelidae, Coleoptera), discussion of overlooked references on Australian insects, effects of wasp and spider bites, book reviews, and a whole host of other topics. For various reasons, it will be a very important journal in years to come and your library cannot afford to be without it!

To date 9 issues have been published. These are available at $25 each including postage and packaging from the Editor-in-Chief at the addresses below or $100AUD ($75USD or 70Euro) for the first 4 issues and the same for issues 5-8 (2006). [$50AUD per year for individuals]. It is intended that 4 issues will be produced per year from now on, the subscription being $100 AUD (or equivalent $75 USD or 70 Euro) per year.
